Family is one of those funny things that has become hard to define. It used to be just the people you were related to; today, it can mean a variety of circumstances and groups, and some of them very complex. But for us, it’s pretty simple: We believe family are those we’re meant to love and do life with.
And that’s where you might come in …
You might be reading this and be someone from one of those complex circumstances. You might be scared, lonely, and totally unsure about what to do. You might know someone who is. You might struggle with family, and what that means. You might not think you have any family at all.
What we want you to know is that even though we have no idea who you are, where you come from, or what you’re struggling with – we love you. And if you’re expecting a baby, we love your baby too.
The desire to grow our family stems from that love. We know that our family is not yet complete; we know at our core that we are meant to have more children. And, we know with confidence that those children will come to us through adoption, and by putting ourselves out there expectantly, rather than through the typical agency process. This is a confidence that produces much joy and excitement at the thought of meeting our new son(s) or daughter(s). We want to open our home, and more importantly our hearts and our family to a child that needs that love. We wait with great anticipation to see who God chooses to add to our lives.
We want our house to look like God’s house: Where everyone who needs family to love and do life with is welcome and loved, no matter who they are, where they come from, or who birthed them. We want our children to grow up knowing that "family" isn't just about blood, but a posture of the heart.
So we pray for who those children might be; we know they’re out there. Maybe you know them. Maybe they’re yours, either born or unborn. Know that we pray for you, too, and what you’re going through. But know that God loves you, and we do too; and if you are considering a forever family for that child, we ask you to consider ours.
Our family would love to do life with yours.
